What does the attorney do?
The attorney’s role in your adoption process is to help facilitate and finalize a legal adoption. They handle the paperwork, negotiating of the adoption, any legal conflict that may arise, arrange any expenses that need to be handled and communicate with the adoption agency as well as help to explain the steps of the adoption process to both the birth parents and adoptive family. They will also help make the adoption process run smoothly from the start to completion.
One great way to find a good attorney is by asking adoptive families who they used. However, our agency also has attorneys we use for our office and can connect you with one if you send us an email!
